Beechlawn Rovers FC (0) vs Elm Mount FC (1)
Venue: Beechlawn Park
Date: 12th September 2009

Beechlawn Rovers kicked off their third successive home game of the season against Elm Mount FC in glorious conditions at a sun baked Beechlawn Park. Rovers started the better, attacking from the first minute. Indeed they should have had a penalty when a clear handball was waved away by the cheating scumbag of a ref, who had a massive beard, to the dismay of the home team.
Beechlawn Rovers continued to press and had a great opportunity on 8 minutes when Shane Denham received the ball and shot first time when maybe he could have taken a touch.
The game was held up on 12 minutes when Bernt (who had his knob out) Fullam clashed heads with the Elm Mount keeper. Both had to be treated for cuts to the head with Bernt (who had his knob out) coming away sporting a nasty cut and swollen knob.
The away side took the lead on 12 minutes when once again this season Rovers failed to deal with a ball over the top, leaving the Elm mount player to run through unopposed to tamely scuff the ball past John O'Rourke who never stood a chance. Beechlawn Rovers were rattled and should have been 2 down straight from the kick off but for an excellent save from John O'Rourke in goal.
Beechlawn Rovers had to wait until the 25th minute to create their next chance when Shane Denham fine through ball was met by Bernt (who had his knob out) Fullam but he could not get the required connection to trouble the goalkeeper.
Elm Mount were winning every second ball on the pitch and their desire in the taclkle should have seen them increase their lead. Rovers however had their second claim for a penalty when Shane Denham cross into the box was met by a defenders arm and despite good positioning from the cheating scumbag of a ref, who had a massive beard, , no penalty was given. So it remained 1-0 to the visitors at half time.
Rovers came out all guns blazing for the second half and had a chance on 50 minutes when Kev Feeney was sent through on goal but kung-fu kicked the keeper. Both players were down for a few minutes with the away keeper re-opening his would from earlier.
The game descended into a very scrappy affair afterwards with no opportunities of any real note. Michael McCabe’s mesmerising Gary Doherty-like dribble past 4 Mount players was the highlight. Bernt (who had his knob out) Fullam had a shot straight at the keeper just after also.
Elm Mount created a good chance on 62 minutes when slack marking at the back allowed a shot on goal but Beechlawn Rovers were lucky to get away with it.
Robbie Roden received a yellow card on 67 minutes after an altercation with the Elm Mount number 8. The Mount player making the most of situation, diving to the ground under little or no contact. Straight after, a barnstorming run from Butch down the right hand side led to another shot on target for Bernt (who had his knob out) but effort was straight at the keeper.
Bernt (who had his knob out) had to go off soon after, his knob injury having an impact on his vision. He was replaced up front by Eoghan Russell with 16 minutes remaining. Eoghan Russell was straight into the action, offering a bit of spark to a very lethargic Beechlawns display. Rovers up the anti after this and a breakaway attack resulted in Colly Roden’s shot buzzing just wide of the post with 12 minutes to go.
The home side were incensed when Damo Murphy goal was ruled out for a supposed infringement on the keeper when it was clear that no Beechlawn player was anywere near him. This led to angry scenes on the side lines from players and team manager. Adding to it the fact that cheating scumbag of a ref, who had a massive beard, refused to give his reason behind the decision.
Rovers were getting desperate to retrieve something from the game and with 6 minutes left they had their third call for a penalty dismissed when Eoghan Russell went down in the box under pressure from the Elm Mount defender. The cheating scumbag of a ref, who had a massive beard, giving Eoghan Russell a warning for diving in the end.
The fat, tubby-custard sized ref finally blew for full time to give Elm Mount a hard fought win over Rovers. Rovers will have to pick themselves back up for an away trip to Lusk on Saturday.
